The ROI story of Protec Industrial Doors.

Bart van der Zee has been working as interim Manager at Protec for 2 years. With Velde, he went looking for a head of administration to replace him within the organization. What did this process bring Protec and himself?

This is the ROI story of Protec Industrial Doors.

What were your expectations before starting the process?

At the beginning of this year, the vacancy for Head of Administration became concrete. Given the scope of the process, we wanted to hire an agency. This is because the position is very important to our organization but we wanted speed in the process. Velde gave us the best feeling, both personally and about the process.

The inventory for the profile of our future colleague was thorough. Velde focused on the type of person. Interviews were held with colleagues, the profile was discussed in detail and, based on our wishes, the job title was adjusted. This was molded into an assignment* for our future colleague and posted in a vacancy. The outline for the vacancy was different from what we had initially envisioned but it fit us better. After that, things actually went faster than both Velde and we expected. The first interviews soon presented themselves.

* The assignment for future colleague
Your assignment is to keep an optimal grip on the figures, you are the financial heart of Protec Industrial Doors. You are not only the right hand of the DGA, but also in constant contact with the Project Managers. Cost control and keeping a correct project administration are key here.

What was the reality like during the process?

During the process, our expectations were exceeded. Finding the “right” candidate went faster than previously thought, as mentioned. When scheduling the first interviews, we actually had the idea that the first candidates would not yet be concrete. We expected that it would take a long time and that we would first talk to some more candidates after which we would have to adjust the profile. However, Velde had already made an initial filtering so the first candidates we spoke to were spot on. One candidate stood out for us, Gitta.

Gitta starts July 1 in her position with us. Of course, we are already in contact with her about her induction process. We certainly also expect a personal match with our organization. In her career, Gitta has grown along with the organization where she worked. Here she was mainly committed to cost control and keeping correct project administration. She is excited about the process she had the opportunity to do there. And that process is precisely the eve where Protec now stands.

``The process at Velde is firm and personal. The guidance does not stop after signing the contract.```

– Bart van der Zee

What do you expect in the coming months?

First of all, our job is to make the fish swim nicely in the water. We feel that this is an important task for us to ensure that Gitta feels at home in the organization. I expect Gitta to sound the alarm if things are not going well or are not going well. But also that her assignment fits and she fulfills it. From Velde I expect an external party she can spar with. This is because she is taking over from me at short notice. During the first year, several contact moments are planned with William and Gitta. Those are nice picket lines for her first year.
