The Velde Method©

Most working relationships fail not at the start, but in the first year. Signing your contract feels like an end point. In reality, it only begins there.

Working relationships rarely run aground because someone does not master the craft. They get stuck because ambitions, expectations and cooperation are not articulated sharply enough in advance.

That’s why Velde works on one principle: start with the end in mind. The Velde Method helps you make conscious choices and start with clarity, direction and mutual commitment.

Start with the end in mind
1

Start with the end in mind

Before we meet with you, we’ll help you map out your ambition.

  • Where do you want to go in your career?
  • What is the dot on the horizon for you?
  • What development are you looking for in the next one to three years?

What do you have to be able to accomplish within 12 months to say, this was a good step?

Some ambitions

In five years, our brand will be a household name. This is substantiated by our added value. Customers trust us to know what they need. And maybe even better.

In three years we will approach the German market with a permanent team of Key Account Managers and be famous with 80% of the companies in Nordrhein Westfalen.

In five years, I will have commercial leadership of a small team or sales area at a meaningful organization with a strong culture, where I can develop myself as a professional in sales leadership and management.

Recruit by ambition and motivation

A lasting working relationship occurs when ambitions truly align. Your future employer and you create a synergy. That’s why we look beyond your resume. We map out the following

  • your personal ambition
  • the direction of the organization
  • the assignment in the first year
  • culture and way of working together
  • development opportunities
  • working conditions

Synergy for the long term

Being fit on paper is not enough. What matters is the sustainable fit between ambition and motivation.

In interviews and assessments, we make expectations explicit. Not to convince, but to test. Does this assignment really suit you? Is what is asked realistic and achievable?

We also name the possible areas of tension in advance. What can chafe? What do you have to be alert to? This prevents important insights from surfacing only after you have already started.

4

All clear at the start

Everything discussed is brought together in the ROI book. This document is identical for you and your employer.

It contains:

  • Your ambition
  • The assignment for the first year
  • Success Criteria
  • The mutual fit
  • Points of interest in cooperation

It is not a formality, but a common starting point. Something to fall back on when practice becomes unruly or priorities shift.

The first year matters

A working relationship proves itself not in conversations, but in practice. That’s why we stay involved in the first year. After six and 12 months, we look back together:

  • Has the task been accomplished?
  • Does your role contribute to the chosen direction?
  • What has this step brought you?

This will reveal whether this step has actually moved you forward.

From a 1st ROI call

Client and candidate are happy with each other and well on their way with the company ambition. The first step has been taken in efficiently deploying people, resources and processes. The focal points from the ROI book have received attention – and where necessary, the course has been adjusted.”

From a 2nd ROI call

“The corporate ambition is met – all time high. The candidate has more than exceeded his brief in the first year. It gives the client room to withdraw further from the operation and build more on its management team.”

Why we do what we do!

Our belief

A good match is no accident. It occurs when your ambition, the assignment and the collaboration are aligned and transparent from the beginning.

That’s why we take you seriously as a professional. We mirror you, even if that sometimes causes chafing. In addition, we stay involved in the phase where the difference is made: the first year.

Success is a working relationship in which you come into your own and can build the next phase of your career.
