Have you ever wondered about the Return on Investment (ROI) of a job application process? At Velde, we look beyond the signed employment contract and therefore ask about the ROI for our clients and professionals. Wilbert Nass started as Sales Manager at Makita last September. This is his ROI story.
What expectations did you have beforehand?
I was tipped off to this position by a relation. The world of technical wholesale and its customers was familiar to me from my previous employer. I already knew Makita as a strong A-brand and my possible role immediately appealed to me. The job description described a clear assignment; build together with the sales organization the position of Makita in the market and take over the sales tasks of the commercial director.
During the procedure I experienced that Makita is a stable organization with a clear vision on continuity and growth. Therefore it was very logical for me to choose Makita.
What is the reality like?
The guidance from both Velde and Makita is very pleasant. Yolanda Marijnen of Velde really gave me the feeling of being there for me during the procedure and further follow-up.
Consequently, the expectations I had beforehand have all been fulfilled. I have the freedom to translate the growth strategy determined from Japan to the Dutch sales organization. These plans are now being put into practice step by step together with the sales team. During the 1st ROI meeting, Makita and I, together with Velde, took stock. It was clear that both Makita and I are satisfied with the results of the past few months.

What is your Return on Investment?
It has given me a position and corresponding assignment where I am completely in my power. At a very nice, professional employer, where visibly everyone is working towards the same goal. It is great to be involved with the sales organization every day. Getting the best out of the market, the products and the people.
I look to the future with confidence. We will certainly have made some more strides with our sales organization.
