The ROI story of Mitchell de Ruygt

Mitchell de Ruygt started through us as Account Manager Northeast Netherlands at Delta Plus Systems. This is his ROI story.
What expectations did you have beforehand?
When I came across the job opening at Delta Plus Systems, I didn’t know the company yet. It seemed like a not-too-big company where everyone puts their shoulders to the wheel. The permanent fall protection facilities with the accompanying technical knowledge and expertise appealed to me greatly.
Since I do not have a direct technical background, I did not have great expectations for my application, but I was still invited for an introductory interview. At my final presentation, I indicated how I would go about selling the fall protection portfolio and what expectations I had for it. And that turned out to be a good fit with the expectations Delta Plus Systems had for this position.
What is the reality like?
My expectations in terms of company and culture were completely met. It matched exactly what we discussed and my own impression during the recruitment process.
Initially, selling a product was a bit of a search at first because I come from a service role. It’s a very broad function. You are a total partner for your clients. In the sales process, you come into the role of consultant, account manager and project leader. When I applied, I thought it would be much more pure sales. But this is much more interesting.
Since September I have been walking around the Northeastern Netherlands independently and started sowing. Since November/December I see the fruits of that. So the first steps have been taken. We want to double last year’s sales this year and we are well on track for that. In time there will come point to decide whether we will expand with an assembly team in the north.

What is your Return on Investment?
I have been at it for almost a year now and am really enjoying it. I get a lot of trust and guidance from the entire company. I am learning a lot and have already made some great strides as an account manager. At Delta Plus Systems we are very close and we really do it together. Every order is celebrated with the same enthusiasm.
What has Delta Plus Systems achieved? Sales-wise we have also made good strides; we are clearly growing in the northeastern Netherlands. I also bring the Frisian sobriety to the company. Everyone is involved in the development of the company, so I also try to give my input there. Delta Plus Systems is also satisfied with that, because in the meantime I have received my permanent appointment.
A year from now, I want to be in the same place but with even more revenue. I really want to do this for years to come and take more and more steps. I would like to achieve that the Northeast becomes as big as the West and the South.
