The ROI story of Getting Logistics Done

Teams are the driving force behind the realization of ambitions and ensure the continuity and growth of the organization. That is why we do not use assessments and team scans as a snapshot, but to gain insight into the synergy of the team. Curious about the Return on Investment (ROI) of our team scans?

Ferry de Heer, DGA, tells the ROI story of Getting Logistics Done.

What did you guys run into?

Together with my associate, I started this logistics company five years ago. In the meantime, we have really grown tremendously, which is why we rolled out the 2.0 version of our organization last year. With a new name and a new online portal that gives customers 24/7 insight into their shipments.

Then it was time to see if everyone was in the right place and in their strengths in the new organization. We contacted you with the expectation that with your services we would really get a good insight of all MT members. In their qualities and on whether everyone fit our 2.0 plans for the organization.

How did it turn out?

Over the summer we made a plan with Vivanne and Carlijn van Velde on how we would approach this. They suggested team scans for both the board members and the MT members. This would give us a good picture of individual potential and areas of concern, as well as the composition and synergy of the team.

After everyone took the individual assessments in September, Velde provided personal feedback to each MT member. This went beyond simply discussing the test results. The 2.0 plans were the starting point. Vivanne and Carlijn always made the link between the individual qualities and ambitions and these future plans. And discussed with each MT member how they see their role (assignment) for the future.

This was seen as positive, sometimes quite tough. We then discussed the results of the team scans in detail in the boardroom with Vivanne and Carlijn.

Successful combination

The executive team scan also gave me a good picture of myself and my associate. We had never done it that way before.

It was just very funny to see. Because we both have very different approaches. One is more about the details, picking out everything completely. The other looks more at the big picture. The formula that my partner and I have had for the last 5 years has been a success. The team scan gave us insight into why this combination works so well.

What are the next steps?

We then also did a fleet review. Not only of the MT but also of the entire staff currently with us. We actually took immediate action on that too. Had conversations with those who were less in place. Gave more responsibility to those who were up to it.

Early this year, we sat down with the entire MT again to set goals for the coming year. Then they sit down again with their team. That now becomes an annual cycle so to speak. Setting the goals and regularly monitoring together where are we and what do we still want to achieve.

That is why I am also very happy that we chose the assessments and team scans, because it really went a long way in helping us and gave us a good foundation to build on. That is very important for our future plans!
