Huge response

Reinout Janssens, managing consultant at Velde, comments: “This case generated an enormous amount of response. The exposure was great and you could tell that Boretti’s question had triggered something in the market. During the many phone calls I challenged the potential candidates on their guts. Do they look at the market with an open mind and can they carry out their assignment based on their own expertise? Without beating about the bush. During this interview, things could go one of two ways. Either the candidate was wildly enthusiastic or realized they lacked sufficient experience and guts and declined to apply.”

A team is born

Boretti knew what they wanted to achieve with this Six team. The assignment for the candidates was clearly defined and perfectly aligned with Boretti’s ambition. It was up to Velde to realize the right match between the candidates and Boretti. But the mutual click between the candidates also played a major role in this process. This was reflected in the final round. Candidates cooked together and gave a successful final presentation for the board.

Viral with spagetti

During the recruitment process, Velde received more than 1,200 responses. Naturally, we reviewed these responses and informed the candidates. Even if the process ended here for the candidate.

But a viral moment is in a small corner. As a special thank you, every applicant at Boretti received a letter with a pack of spaghetti afterwards. And that led to tremendous hype on LinkedIn after a candidate shared the message.
